William Jenkins Jr., the brother of New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins, has been charged with aggravated manslaughter by the police in Bergen County and Fair Lawn, New Jersey. The body of Roosevelt Rene, a family friend of Jenkins, was discovered at Janoris Jenkins’ residence.
The exact cause of Rene’s death has not been disclosed yet. While there are reports suggesting possible suffocation or strangulation, the authorities have initiated a homicide investigation. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the charges against William Jenkins Jr. in connection to the incident.
It is important to note that the charges against William Jenkins Jr. are currently allegations, and he is considered innocent until proven guilty. According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, William Jenkins Jr. is currently in police custody in Ontario for a parole violation and awaits extradition to New Jersey.
Janoris Jenkins, on the other hand, was reported to be in Florida at the time of Rene’s death, where he usually resides during the offseason. The Giants spokesperson mentioned that the team is aware of the situation and is monitoring the developments.
Rene, also known as Trypps Beatz, was a music producer. His last Instagram post showed him in a dimly lit room surrounded by recording equipment. Rene and Janoris Jenkins had collaborated on a song where Jenkins performed under the name ‘Rabbit.’
