Andre Hal, the Houston Texans safety get diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma

Andre Hal, the safety for the Houston Texans, has been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma, as announced by the team on Friday. He is currently receiving treatment and undergoing further evaluation at the MD Anderson Cancer Center after being diagnosed by the Texans’ physician.

In a statement, Hal expressed his faith in God and gratitude for the support from his family, friends, teammates, and coaches during this challenging time. He is determined not to let this diagnosis deter him from pursuing his dreams and urged others not to feel sorry for him, stating his confidence in overcoming the illness.

Hal, who is entering his fifth season with the Texans, signed a three-year deal with the team in August of last year and played in all 16 games of the previous season.

The Texans’ coach, Bill O’Brien, shared that the team was deeply saddened by Hal’s diagnosis and praised Hal for his leadership and contributions to the team and the community. O’Brien expressed confidence in Hal’s resilience, positivity, and the support from the medical community for a successful recovery, emphasizing the organization’s full backing of Hal and his family.

Interestingly, Hal’s teammate David Quessenberry had also faced a lymphoma diagnosis in 2014 but managed to return to play in his first NFL game last season despite the challenges.

Everyone hopes for a speedy recovery for Hal and looks forward to his eventual return to the field. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this difficult time.
