Achieving a major success, the Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel has managed to obtain his third Australian Grand Prix in the match which was held on Sunday.
He has done this by holding off his Mercedes rival Lewis Hamilton. With this achievement, Vettel has achieved his career’s 100th podium in his 200th Formula One Race. Apart from this, he becomes the fourth driver to claim 100 podium finishes. Other three who have been cornered this record are Hamilton, Michael Schumacher and Alain Prost.
Sebastian ended the race with a time gap of 5 seconds from Hamilton. Hamilton tried to overcome him but he failed to overcome him on the narrow Albert Park circuit. That had led him to face him to defeat.
Talking about other players Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen arrived at the third place, denying Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo. He has now a chance to come up as the first Australian driver to stand on the podium at the Australian Grand Prix. McLaren’s Fernando Alonso came fifth and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished the race at sixth place.
During the race, Hamilton led for the first 20 laps after that Vettel took the lead but for a temporary period. After sometimes Hass driver Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean endured calamitously and stopped midway during the race. Both the drivers were racing in fourth and fifth places.
Vettel then took the advantages and quickly changed the tires. Then he managed to overcome Hamilton, who got on the radio to ask what had just happened on the track. However, when the race resumed, Hamilton tried a lot to cross Vettel and stayed close to his care but didn’t find any space to pass Vettel. Renault’s Nico Hulkenberg came seventh just ahead of the other Mercedes driver, Valtteri Bottas. He finished the race in 15th place.
