On a fine afternoon, Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins help Timberwolves in a 109-103 victory over the Warriors.
Both Jimmy Butler and Golden State’s Stephen Curry did not play for the Wolves, Towns and Wiggins came forward to help their team end a three-game losing streak. The Wolves will be playing Washington, San Antonio, Houston and the Los Angeles Clippers before the schedule of the Wolves get into season’s final three weeks.
Towns outrun Warriors in fourth-quarter. The Wolves won 25-19, they scored 14 points om the way to 31 points, 16-rebound performance. He scored eight points from the nine points that his team scored in a game. Wolves led the first quarter by 11 points, then trailed in the second quarter and the final quarter they gain led by seven points with less than 6 minutes left for the game.
The Warriors tried to come back as close as 104-103, but they cannot get past the Wolves. The Wolves are now tied with Oklahoma City in the fourth position with two percentage points behind New Orleans and one and a half games ahead if other three teams that are tied for eight positions and a final playoff spot.
Wolves veteran point guard Jeff Teague said that “they played hard. They saw a playoff atmosphere. It was an intense game. They have talented players over there, and we came out and played hard.”
The Wolves announced their thirteen sell out of this season for a Sunday matinee telecast by ABC.
Warriors are 13-1 in-game until Sunday, but after losing at Target Center, they are now 13-2.
Sunday game for Wolves who played without Butler makes them stay at a fifth place in the Western Conference.
Wolves have seen some contributions but Towns and Wiggins contribution combined to give Wolves 54 points on 22 –for-40 shooting.
