Adam Rippon seen wearing a harness at the Oscars

What would happen when a gay enthusiast gets all the limelight at the Oscars? It sounds quite unapologetic though. The 28-year old Olympic figure skater, Adam Rippon who is also the first American gay individual to compete in the winter games, was seen wearing a shiny leather black harness inside his tuxedo with casual buttoned-up pants on Sunday evening. He teamed his outfit with a black bow tie and eschewed socks.

S&M inspired his look by Moschino that was immediately spurred on social media once the pictures of his outfit got uploaded. Chris Rovzar from Bloomberg commented, “Somewhere in heaven, Oscar Wilde, Harvey milk, James Baldwin, and Michelangelo just shred a margarita.”

The creative director of Moschino, Jeremy Scott posted a picture on Instagram late Saturday of himself along with Mr. Rippon and another Olympic figure skater, Mirai Nagasu. She also competed and won a bronze medal in Pyeongchang just like Rippon.

Jeremy Scott said, “Mr. Rippon would be on the red carpet slaying in Moschino!” But, unfortunately, the Instagram viewers could not get any hint of the outfit from that posted picture that Mr. Rippon was about to wear for Oscars. The picture showed Mr. Rippon and Mirai Nagasu both wearing pastel Moschino sweaters that had a caption, “my little pony.”

Mr. Rippon who won bronze for the United States in figure staking is one of the most prominent figures when it comes to social media fan following and dressing style. He has been socially active in the recent months, and his fans and loved ones love to watch his latest updates and news from time to time. He has an attitude that not many of the athletes have and that is, he speaks on the face of the critics and the insult givers without fearing.
