Former NFL wide receiver Rae Carruth is now eligible for parole in October and is about to be released from North Carolina prison on 22nd October 2018. But, now he wants to take custody of his son. As per the report, the 18-year-old son suffering from some mental and physical issues and he require special attention. He is now suffering from cerebral palsy. The reason behind this is when he was a seven-month-old fetus, Carruth planned to murder his mother.
Carruth found guilty in the murder case. He had hired two men to carry out his plan and killed Cherica Adams. After that, he was sentenced to 18 to 24 years in prison. As per the report, Adams was pregnant that time. She was shot four times. His son Chancellor Lee Adams born prematurely due to this incident.
Apologized for the incident, Carruth has written a letter to Adams’s mother Saundra Adams. In the letter, he wrote that he has accepted his guilty of killing his mother and also stated his interest in taking custody of his son. Carruth stated “I’m apologizing for the loss of her daughter. I’m apologizing for the impairment of my son. I feel responsible for everything that happened. And I just want her to know that truly I am sorry for everything.”
However, Saundra Adams denied giving custody of the boy to Carruth. She had raised the boy since his birth. Saundra stated, “Chancellor will be raised either by me or, after I’m gone, by someone else who loves him and who knows him. He will never be raised by a stranger — someone he doesn’t know and who tried to kill him.”
Well, Carruth is still trying to take the custody and stated that he wants the responsibility. He said that he could bring some differences and as he is still here, no one needs to take the responsibility.
