Josh McDaniels will stay with the Patriots, not joining the Colts

It takes time but the result is fruitful. As per the latest report New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has informed that he will start with the team and will not go for the head coaching job for the Indianapolis Colts. The reason behind this result is two days of reflection and conversations with the Patriots.

As per the report, Patriots owner Robert Kraft talked with McDaniels and that helps him to wound up sweetening his contract. Now it is clear that he will remain in New England not leaving for Indianapolis. The funny thing is that Indianapolis was all set to hold a news conference to introduce its new coach on Wednesday. Well, McDaniels did not have a signed contract with the Colts.

The reason behind this decision is not money. McDaniels has been vacillating on this decision throughout the interview process. It is said that he was not that much of comfort taking his family out of New England and moving to Indianapolis.

He had stated to the Colts that he has not decided yet and he needs more time to mull the decision and he wanted to discuss with his family. But at the end, he felt like to remain in New England. The Krafts also stepped in to make McDaniels feel even more wanted. On Tuesday the two sides were able to come to an agreement which helped to retain its offensive coordinator at a time it is losing its defensive coordinator, Matt Patricia, to the Detroit Lions.

The decision to stay could spark speculation about the retirement of the Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. On the other side some sources informed that isn’t the case — and if it was, he would have been more inclined to leave. The reason behind his stay is still unknown but for now, it is a good news for the Patriots.
