It seems that the things are not going well for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team started the season with some failure, and this is already a difficult season for them. While the team is trying to get out from the troubles, it just got more problematic. As per the new report, the Cavalier’s all-star forward Kevin Love recently sustained a fracture in his left hand during the match against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. The team informed about the injury after an X-ray and stated that it is a non-displaced fracture. On Wednesday he will be examined in Cleveland.
For now, the team has not stated bout when he will return to the game, but he could take rest for at least one month. If a doctor advised him for surgery, then he could miss around 20 games. If he doesn’t go for surgery then, he will not be able to play for minimum 13 games. This statement has given by the athletic trainer Jeff Stotts, who maintains the database of NBA injuries. For now, he will take rest for 4 to 8 weeks. The team will miss him in the next match which will be played in 18th February All-Star Game. Now it’s up to Adam Silver, Commissioner of NBA to select a replacement player who will play in place of Kevin Love.
After the medical examination, the team will get a definite timeline about for how many days Kevin will not play games.
It may be noted that, in 2013, Anthony Davis of New Orleans Pelicans also had sustained a non-displaced fractured and he missed only seven matches as he got fine without any surgery so the team is expected that Kevin may not need to go for surgery.
For the Caves, it is another major setback who scored 29-19 points in the match played against the Piston on Tuesday.
