After the allegation of sexual misconduct came to the front against Karolyi Ranch of Huston, recently the governor of Texas has ordered the Texas Rangers to carry out an investigation on this matter. The ranch is now recently a training camp for the nation’s top gymnasts.
On Tuesday Gov. Greg Abbott writes a letter to the director of the state’s public safety department ordering him to send the deploy the statewide law enforcement Rangers to carry out a detailed investigation on Ranch. As per the report, the USA Gymnastics ended all the relation with Ranch in January after the allegation and during the hearing for former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar. Larry Nassar has been found guilty in many sexual harassment cases, and he has been sentenced to up to 175 years in state prison. Many girls and women athletes brought an allegation that Larry Nassar sexually assaulted them when they were at the ranch in Texas.
Abbott stated, “The public statements made by athletes who previously trained at the Karolyi Ranch are gutwrenching.” All the athletes and public of Texas deserve to know that all the matter is being investigated thoroughly and the perpetrators of such type of misconduct are brought to justice.
Many athletes spoke out about Nassar, and they stated that Nassar managed to earn their trust by playing the good cop. He was there to treat them, but he assaulted them sexually in their room.
Aly Raisman, the captain of the 2012 and 2016 gold medal-winning Olympic teams stated that Maggie Nichols, Jantzi’s star gymnast had described the entire treatment sessions she had with Nassar. Then she informed the entire incident to Nichols’ mother and USA Gymnastics officials. As per Raisman gave the statement, Nassar abused her when she was just 15. Nassar used to give her desserts as treats which were not allowed at the ranch. Raisman said, “He was grooming me so he could molest me.”
