Kansas beats Kansas State for seventh straight time

In an interesting match, the seventh-ranked Jayhawks team has defeated the Kansas State wildcat by 70-56 points to retain sole possession of the Big 12 lead. During the fast half, Kansas shot the ball great against Kansas State but they played poorly in during the second half.  But soon the team rectified their gameplay style. Svi Mykhailiuk had 22 points to lead four Kansas players in double-figures. Apart from that, Devonte Graham scored 16 points, and Malik Newman scored 13 for Kansas Jayhawks. It was like they all were celebrating the Kansas Day holiday. It was their seventh straight victory over Kansas State. Winning team coach Bill Self said, “If you’re going to be up 13 on the road, have 12 turnovers and go 6 for 13 from the foul line, you wouldn’t think that would be the case.” However, the team managed to keep the lead and win the match by performing good in first half and second half. As per the report Kansas’s forward Mitch Lightfoot suffered from injury as he hit his head hard on the floor while taking charge and after that, for several minutes he stayed down on the floor. But after some time, Lightfoot stood up on his leg and walked off with help. Coach Self said “They said he was fine. I guess he passed the protocol.” Dean Wade who had scored 20 points and eight rebounds said “I don’t think we were in rhythm the whole game. We didn’t get inside enough – there’s a lot of different things that happened that we could have done better.” Bruce Weber, the coach of Kansas State, said “I told the guys we had to play better than we did in Lawrence.” He further stated that Kansas is a great team and they have a better understanding of themselves. The zone defense slowed them down, Graham stated.
