The Farmers Insurance Open season has been started, and Tiger Woods will tee off early Saturday, and far removed from the leaders. But, it seems that he is okay with this. That also proved that a lot of things had been changed after numerous injuries and comebacks. HE has been won seven times in the tournament.
On Friday he rallied over his final nine holes Friday to make the 36-hole cut. Woods made four birdies on the front side of the North Course at his final nine, including a two-putt birdie from 90 feet at his last hole. The 1-under-par 71 put him at 143, one under for the tournament and ten strokes behind leader Ryan Palmer. It was the first PGA tour of Wood in this year.
Commenting on this Wood stated, “I was grinding my way around the golf course today. I didn’t quite hit it as good as I would like to. I fought hard. I was trying to post a number, which I was able to do today. It was tough.”
On the other side, Palmer finished for a 5-under 67. After successful one-shot, Jon Rahm will reach No. 1 in the world.
Woods will start Saturday’s third round off the 10th tee at 1:10 p.m. ET and will play with Brandt Snedeker and Sung Kang. Palmer, Rahm, and Luke List tee off at 1:40 p.m. ET.
That was not a good day for Woods. He was managed to hit just three fairways. He just played one over his final nine holes and a big hole early when he hooked his tee shot at the par-4 13th into a Torrey Pines canyon. After that Woods faced some serious pressure, and he was at least three off the cut line. He settled down and hit a couple of fairways. But didn’t get any close shot to make a clear score.
