A fresh report has informed that, Per Shurmer, Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator will be appointed as the head coach for the New York Giants. Well, after this he will work for the Giants, not against them.
It has been confirmed that very soon Shurmur is expected to accept the job. The report came to limelight after on Monday. Well, till now no deal had been reached.
However, there is a twist on this appointment. The twist is Shurmur will not be allowed to accept the proposal to be the head coach of the New York Giants, until the Vikings, are eliminated from the tournament. But, there is very low chance of elimination of the Vikings as the team advanced to the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.
Talking about the record of Shurmur, he has been worked as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns from 2011-12. After Chip Kelly was fired from the Eagles, Shurmur was appointed on that place, and he served as the head coach of the team for the year 2015.
Coached by Shurmur, the Eagles defeated Big Blue with the score 35-30. He served as OC for Steve Spagnuolo in 2009 and 2010 with the Rams, and the two former Eagles coaches remain good friends.
The thing is that the Giants will have to wait until Sunday. On that day, the Vikings will face the Eagles in NFC championship game which will be held in Philadelphia. If the Vikings lose the game, then Shurmur can join the Giants. While adaptability will be the major factor in this selection, Shurmur has been proved this ability.
Shurmur has gained much popularity in the league for his ability to develop quarterbacks of a wide range of talent. Nick Foles, Donovan McNabb, Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford also have expressed about their career with Shurmur as their coach, and they stated that they had learned many things from him.
