When Venus Williams lost the match to Belinda Bencic BY 6-3, 7-5 in the first round of Australian open, it took her a while to face the media. It was sure that she was troubled after her loss in the game in the media question round. Her answers remained short and mostly one word. She was barely audible even with a microphone in front of her.
And, disinterested and upset Williams left the press session quite soon. This is what happens in a straight sets upset loss to the player and that too in the opening round. After her departure everyone was in a shock to what will happen now!
Last year Williams managed to qualify to the finals of Australian open before she lost the game to her younger sister, Serena Williams. Along with the latest match, Venus has been playing all the seven Australian grand slam tournament matches where Serena was seen skipping the matches this year to take care of her 4 month old daughter.
This was surely a one-time opportunity for the older sister to make it a hit at least at one of the two grand slam tournaments but failed to win any. The opponent and the winner of the Australian open Bencic surely surprised everyone with the win by defeating the No. 5 world ranked Venus Williams. The main reasons could be maybe her not being in the shape and the game shape.
