Pink will be singing the National Anthem before the Super Bowl kickoff

Pop star Pink, whose official name Pink, will perform the national anthem at the Super Bowl before the kickoff on February 4 in Minneapolis’ US Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings. This was announced by the NFL in a statement issued on Monday. This will be the first time that the versatile pop star will make an appearance at the Super Bowl and has been popular in the entire century. Pink will be singing the national anthem the same year when Justin Timberlake will be performing in the halftime show. The announcement about his performance was made last October. Additionally, as per reports, Alexandria Wailes will be performing the national anthem and “America The Beautiful” in American Sign language.

Both the pop stars are famous for topping the pop charts since the past 18 years, Pink with her “There You Go” and Justin Timberlake with her “N SYNC and “Bye Bye Bye.” Besides this, both will also be launching world tours in the month of March.  Even though the Pink fans were totally happy on hearing that she would be performing in the upcoming pre-game, some thought that the Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter should have been picked to play the halftime show instead off Justin Timberlake.

Pink has joined in the footsteps of great performers that have performed at the Super Bowl previously which includes the names, Luke Bryant, Lady Gaga, Idina Menzel, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé Knowles, Christina Aguilera and many more.

Last year’s national anthem was sung by Luke Bryant. Besides, Lady Gaga’s well received performance at the Super Bowl 50 has helped her open doors for more opportunities the following year.

“Beautiful Trauma” is the latest album released by P!nk in October while Justin Timberlake will be releasing his newest collection “Man of the Woods”, two days prior to the game.
