We’re on the verge of seeing another surprise major championship winner in golf this year as 36-year-old former Georgia Bulldog Brian Harman is on his way towards winning the 2023 Open Championship with a dominant effort.
Harman took a lead into the weekend and he hasn’t let it go, seemingly responding to every hiccup he makes with a clutch birdie putt on the ensuing hole.
You would think that everyone would be rooting for this underdog story, but there are many in the golf world who find themselves to be very annoyed with Harman’s actions on the course at Royal Liverpool in Hoylake, England.
Fans tuning into the Open Championship couldn’t help but notice the ridiculous amount of “waggles” performed by Harman before he hits his shot. Some are even calling him the “new Patrick Cantlay.”
Even the people at NBC decided to set up a “Brian Harman Waggle Counter.” Their final number? Thirteen waggles!
Needless to say, the viewers were not impressed. One of them even called for Harman to be DQ’d!
That’s obviously way overboard. Perhaps just a little warning to cut out all the waggling?
