Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw’s Unusual Pitch is Setting Social Media on Fire – Fans Share Video and Tweets

Clayton Kershaw made his second start of the season on Friday night, but people will only remember it for a strange moment in the game when he was on the mound. Kershaw threw one of the weirdest pitches of his career.

Gabriel Moreno stepped into the box to lead off the bottom of the fourth vs. Kershaw, but as the left-hander did his usual windup to deliver his pitch, he seemed to do a jump throw to the plate, It resulted in a 65 MPH pitch that was well above the strike zone.

“What was that?” Diamondbacks announcer Steve Berthiaume asked. “Was that a jump throw? A Derek Jeter jump throw, a Tim Tebow loft it over the goal line.”

Aside from the strange pitch, Clayton Kershaw gave up back-to-back home runs to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the sixth inning of the Dodgers’ 6-3 loss Friday night. In six innings, the left-hander gave up four runs and seven hits.

Kershaw reached his latest milestone moment Friday night, becoming just the 34th pitcher in big league history to make 400 starts with the same team.

After the game, he never addressed the weird pitch, but many have speculated he was trying to avoid a pitch clock violation and just got caught in between.

The Los Angeles Dodgers fell to 5-3 on the year, but they still remain in first place in the National League West.
