Josie Canseco, the daughter of former MLB star Jose Canseco, has hit back at her detractors with claims she’s never gotten financial help from her father or other members of her family, per TMZ.
The Victoria’s Secret model went scorched earth on Instagram, targeting her critics, though she wasn’t clear as to who she was referring to or what got her to take to the platform to defend herself.
While Jose was a well-paid baseball player, Jose insists she’s self-made as her family was broke by the time she was six or seven years old. The model claims she’s gone through periods when she struggled financially, making less than $100 a week while living in shared spaces with other models.
“My family is broke,” she wrote, “and I don’t get the advance of a family that was rich.”
“Everyone claiming I came from all this rich money because I’m a ‘canseco’ do ur research. My ‘family money’ was blown by the time I was 6/7 w bankruptcy n I had to work my ass off to not only sustain my ‘family name’ but also pay my bills cause no one paid that s*** except me.”
Josie admitted having been handed the privilege of being born to a family with status but says she had to find her own way.
“I really went through that s*** n busted my ass the traditional way,” she added.
Jose Canseco earned over $40 million from baseball, having played out a 17-year career. However, he filed for bankruptcy in 2012.
