Paige Spiranac has come to the defense of Tiger Woods following his next-level trolling of Justin Thomas at the Genesis Invitational on Thursday.
The golfing icon was making his first non-Major Championship appearance in years and was in remarkable form as he showed up both Justin and Rory McIlroy. He made headlines for handing the former a tampon after outdriving him on the ninth hole, something which has the internet rolling around.
But not everyone was happy with the gesture as some see it as a way of suggesting women cannot hit a golf ball.
Another athlete might have been canceled by this morning but, hey, it’s Tiger Woods. He’s good.
Paige is very much a woman, plus she’s a golfer, and she found it funny too.
“If anyone tries to cancel Tiger over this we riot,” she tweeted on Friday morning. It’s funny.”
While it’s pretty difficult to disagree with Paige on anything, it’s a matter of taste. Some people find it funny, some don’t – and that’s okay. But we can almost be 100 percent certain that Tiger only meant this as a joke and nothing else.
