Jake Paul has signed an MMA deal and is likely to make his debut sometime this year. The boxer has also wasted no time getting down to business, issuing a challenge to Nate Diaz.
Paul inked a multi-year contract to fight for the Professional Fighters League (PFL) this January and will be going up against the more popular UFC, though his arrival should certainly increase PFL’s stock.
It appears jake is also intent on getting his feet wet with a fight against Diaz, whom he says he’s offered a two-fight deal that would include a boxing match and a match in the octagon.
“I know this is such a tough sport and it’s not going to be easy. But if I could do it in boxing, I could do it in MMA. I’m so dedicated to this that I offered Nate Diaz a two-fight deal,” he said.
“First, we box. Then six months later we fight MMA in the PFL ‘smart cage’ and lay it all on the line. If that’s not balls, then I don’t know what is. Nate Diaz, I’m down to fight you in your own damn sport. It’s a two-fight deal, let’s make this happen.”
Paul has beaten all challengers who have faced him in the ring and will hope for similar success on the MMA scene. He beat legend Anderson Silva on points last October – he’s now looking to dominate Silva’s sport too.
