Florida International linebacker Luke Knox has sadly passed away at the age of 22.
The news of his death was shared on Thursday morning by FIU coach Mike MacIntyre. The coach did not disclose the cause of Knox’s passing.
In a heartfelt message, MacIntyre expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of Luke Knox. He highlighted Knox’s strong bond with his family and teammates, noting his genuine care and positive influence on those around him. MacIntyre also offered condolences to Knox’s family on behalf of the FIU football community.
Luke Knox is the younger brother of Dawson Knox, a tight end for the Buffalo Bills who previously played at Ole Miss and was drafted in 2019.
Knox recently transferred from Ole Miss to FIU during the off-season. He had a notable start to his collegiate football career, making two starts for Ole Miss as a redshirt freshman in 2019 and recording ten tackles that season.
FIU Athletics also expressed their sadness over Knox’s passing, mentioning that they are providing support to his family, friends, and teammates during this challenging time.
