Renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Athlete Leandro Lo Allegedly Fatally Shot in Brazil

Brazilian jiu-jitsu standout Leandro Lo reportedly met his demise in Brazil.

Reports confirm that he was fatally shot during a concert in Sao Paulo on Saturday, as informed by his legal representative to Brazilian news outlet G1. Sadly, Lo was shot in the head, leading to doctors declaring him brain dead after being hospitalized.

As per a Combate report, police officer Henrique Otavio Oliveira Velozo was mentioned as a suspect in the police records. The report described a confrontation between Velozo and Lo, where Velozo reportedly seized a bottle from Lo’s table, leading to Lo taking him down. After the separation, Velozo purportedly drew a gun and shot Lo in the forehead.

Lo, aged 33, was a decorated BJJ world champion with victories in prestigious events like the World Cup, Pan American Championships, and Brazilian National Jiu-Jitsu Championships.
