A young South African boxer tragically passed away after his concerning in-fight video raised alarms about his health.

Simiso Buthelezi, a boxer from South Africa, died at the age of 24 after his fight with Siphesihle Mntungwa on Sunday.

During the bout, Buthelezi was seen throwing punches at an invisible opponent, prompting the referee to stop the fight.

He was rushed to King Edward VIII Hospital, where doctors discovered a brain bleed and placed him in a medically-induced coma.

Boxing South Africa confirmed Buthelezi’s death in a statement expressing deep sadness for his family and friends.
