The transfer portal has significantly altered college football dynamics, prompting some players to consider staying put at their current institutions.
Nick Saban has passionately advocated for his players to remain in his program by sharing the staggering total amount earned by his players in the NFL.
When discussing the portal, Saban stated, “Somebody gave me a stat that our players have made $1.7 billion playing in the NFL since 2007,” as reported by Creg Stephenson of AL.com. “And all those guys didn’t play when they were freshmen. They didn’t all play when they were sophomores. They didn’t even all play when they were juniors, but they all developed.”
Amidst his numerous National Titles, Saban’s impactful revelation of his former players’ NFL earnings stands as a compelling recruitment strategy.
Since Saban’s arrival at Alabama in 2007, the Crimson Tide have solidified their dominance, with a remarkable number of players transitioning to successful NFL careers.
Under Saban’s guidance, Alabama has seen 106 players drafted by NFL teams, including 39 in the first round.
Collectively, Saban’s former players have amassed $1.7 billion in NFL earnings over the past 15 years, equating to an impressive annual average exceeding $100 million.
