Any sympathy towards Jada Pinkett Smith following Chris Rock’s joke about her hair condition might have dissipated with the release of a new video capturing her reaction to her husband’s altercation with the comedian.
A fresh video angle of the now-infamous moment at the 2022 Oscars when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock has emerged, revealing Jada Pinkett-Smith seemingly laughing as Will returns to his seat after the incident.
In the footage, Smith is seen leaving the stage and then sitting back down after the altercation with Rock.
Rock is heard saying, “Wow, Will Smith just smacked the s–t out of me!” while the video shows Pinkett Smith seemingly amused by the situation.
As many now know, Rock likened the actress to Demi Moore’s character in “G.I. Jane.” Rock was reportedly unaware of Pinkett Smith’s alopecia condition.
Another camera angle also captures Rock’s response following the incident.
Rock returned to the stage on Wednesday night but refrained from delving into the incident.
He informed the audience that he is still processing what happened.
The Academy has announced that it is conducting a formal review of the incident to consider further actions and consequences.
