Miguel Andujar experienced a terrifying incident when he was robbed at gunpoint at his farm in San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic, as per reports.
The New York Yankees utility player found himself in a frightening situation on Wednesday when the attackers reportedly fired three shots, as reported by ESPN Deportes. Although the 27-year-old wasn’t hit by the bullets, he was physically assaulted. A relative, who was shot during the incident, is reportedly in stable condition.
According to Listin Diario, a watch valued at around $7,000 and an SUV belonging to Andujar’s father were among the items stolen. The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned, and authorities have obtained surveillance footage related to the incident.
At least 10 individuals are reportedly being investigated in connection with the robbery and assault, as stated by Listin Diario.
Andujar is reported to be doing “OK” and is expected to arrive in Tampa on Saturday for spring training.
