The Tampa Bay Lightning showcased their prowess in the NHL once again by clinching a hard-fought victory against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night. Despite being a dominant force with back-to-back Stanley Cup victories, they proved their mettle by securing a 3-2 overtime win, courtesy of Victor Hedman’s unassisted goal with just 2:15 left on the clock. This win places them just three points behind the Panthers at the summit of the Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, the Colorado Avalanche’s impressive 18-game winning streak at home came to an end as they fell to the Arizona Coyotes 3-2 in a shootout. Scott Wedgewood emerged as the standout performer for the underdog Coyotes, who have a modest record of 11-29-4. Wedgewood’s stellar performance between the posts, making 38 crucial saves, denied the Avalanche from extending their streak. The lone goal in the shootout came from Alex Galchenyuk, securing an unexpected victory for the Coyotes, a team currently out of playoff contention.
