The tragic death of Cristina “Vita” Aranda, the wife of Paraguayan soccer player Ivan Torres, has shocked many. She was shot and killed at a music festival in Paraguay over the weekend, as reported by PEOPLE. At just 29 years old, her life was cut short.

Torres took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news of his wife’s passing.

“This is how I will always remember you, my love, with that beautiful smile and kind heart,” Torres expressed in the translated caption. “I will miss you deeply, and nothing will be the same without you. I am grateful for the 11 years we had together, for teaching me about forgiveness, love, and striving to be a better person. You always believed in unconditional love and facing challenges to prepare for the future. You wanted to touch the hearts of all women and make an impact.”

Moving forward, Torres expressed, “I believe God gave you to me and will continue to do so. Thank you for our three children. I will strive to make them resemble you. I love you.”

Aranda was well-known on social media with a following of over 500,000 on Instagram. She was one of two individuals who lost their lives in the tragic shooting at the Ja’umina music festival in San Bernardino, Paraguay on Sunday night, as reported by various sources.

Following the incident,She was brought to a nearby hospital after being shot in the head and later succumbed to her injuries.

Torres, who is 30 years old, currently plays for Olimpia in the Paraguayan Primera Division and represents the Paraguay national team. In December, Arnada revealed that she and Torres were going through a divorce.
