There were only two NHL games on Friday night, but they were action-packed with plenty of goals. The Carolina Hurricanes took on the Calgary Flames and demonstrated why they are a force to be reckoned with in the Metropolitan Division. The Hurricanes secured a 6-3 victory over the Flames, extending their winning streak to five games and claiming victory in nine of their last ten matchups.

Although the Flames took an early lead, the Hurricanes quickly turned the game around by scoring four consecutive goals. Calgary fought back with two goals of their own to keep things competitive. However, in the final minutes of the game, the Hurricanes netted two more goals to solidify their win. Brady Skjei contributed a goal and two assists, while Andrei Svechnikov scored twice to lead the Hurricanes to victory. In another game, the St. Louis Blues bounced back from a previous loss to dominate the Washington Capitals with a 5-1 win on home ice.

Despite the Capitals scoring first within two minutes, the Blues seized control of the game, with Pavel Buchnevich scoring twice and providing an assist. Goaltender Ville Husso allowed an early goal but proved formidable by stopping all 26 shots he faced for the remainder of the game. This victory marked the Blues’ seventh win in their last ten games, positioning them just one point behind the top spot in the Central Division as they strive to catch up with Nashville.
