Anderson, the former NFL rookie of the year, used his Twitter account to express that he is not the father of the UCF player who was fatally shot by his own dad, urging people to stop mistaking him for the person involved in the Florida tragedy. He emphasized his daughters as proof of his non-involvement and requested prayers for the grieving family of the deceased young athlete.

The University of Central Florida running back, Otis Anderson Jr., met a fatal fate when his father shot him following an altercation triggered by his son’s girlfriend’s dog biting him.

Following the heartbreaking incident, Anderson’s father, Otis Anderson, was taken into custody and is facing serious charges including first-degree murder and attempted murder, as the player’s mother was also shot but has since been discharged after receiving medical care.

In response to the tragedy, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, where Anderson’s mother is employed, released a statement expressing condolences and urging support for the grieving family during this challenging time.

Ottis Anderson’s football career spanned playing for the Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants in the NFL.

The late Anderson Jr. had a successful stint at UCF, transitioning from a wide receiver to a running back, amassing notable stats during his time with the team, and leaving a significant impact on those who knew him personally and professionally.
