Deontay Wilder extends his congratulations to Tyson Fury for successfully defending his WBC heavyweight title in their recent fight.

The intense rivalry between the two fighters reached a climax during their trilogy showdown in Las Vegas. Fury emerged victorious by knocking out Wilder in the 11th round at the T-Mobile Arena. Following the fight, Wilder was immediately taken to the University Medical Center for medical evaluation without making any comments to the press. His decision not to shake Fury’s hand created controversy, particularly criticized by Fury himself.

However, on Thursday, Wilder utilized social media to express his admiration for his opponent, stating, “I want to thank God for giving me the strength and determination to compete at this level. I am grateful for the unwavering support of my team and fans throughout this journey. … Lastly, congratulations to [Tyson Fury] for his win and thank you for the unforgettable moments that will endure.”

Wilder’s manager, Shelly Finkel, informed ESPN that Wilder sustained a broken right hand during the fight and is scheduled for surgery on Monday.
