The Houston Texans are standing firm in their demand for a significant return in exchange for Deshaun Watson. Recent reports suggest that the team is open to trade offers for the star quarterback. According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Texans are asking for a substantial price, which includes at least three first-round draft picks to acquire Watson.

Chris Mortensen has stated that two league executives revealed the Texans are seeking a package involving five high draft picks and players who are considered starters in the league.

Despite Watson showing up at Texans training camp to avoid hefty fines for missed days, he still desires to be traded. Currently, the NFL does not intend to place Watson on the commissioner’s exempt list while the legal issues surrounding him persist, including 22 lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct and assault.

In the last season, the 25-year-old quarterback played in all 16 games for the Texans, showcasing his skills by completing 70.2 percent of his passes for 4,823 yards, along with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Additionally, he demonstrated his versatility by rushing for 444 yards and three touchdowns. Watson had signed a lucrative four-year contract worth up to $177 million before the 2020 season.
