The Boston Celtics are set to trade their star guard, Kemba Walker, to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a significant trade. Sources have disclosed that the trade package will involve Al Horford, Moses Brown, and a 2023 second-round pick heading to the Celtics in exchange for Walker.
In addition to the players involved, Boston is also sending over the 16th overall pick in this year’s draft and a 2025 second-round pick to Oklahoma City.
The transaction was confirmed by well-known basketball insider Adrian Wojnarowski in a tweet. According to Wojnarowski, this move provides the Celtics with financial flexibility by shedding Walker’s hefty $73 million contract. On the other hand, the Thunder will now possess three first-round picks in the upcoming draft, indicating a strategic move by the team management.
