Following the recent and unexpected passing of Marvin Hagler, his wife is now faced with addressing controversy and inquiries surrounding his death due to a startling assertion.
Shortly before his passing, Hagler’s former rival, Tommy Hearns, took to Instagram to claim that the boxing legend was in the hospital battling the aftermath of the Covid vaccine.
“He’s in ICU fighting the after effects of the vaccine!” Hearns wrote in a now-deleted post.
Marvin Hagler’s wife has refuted this claim.
“I am the only one who knows all the details, not even his family is fully aware, and I refuse to entertain baseless comments without knowing the truth,” Kay stated in a Facebook post.
“It definitely was not the vaccine that led to his passing. He peacefully left with his usual smile, and now is not the time for unfounded rumors.”
Kay also mentioned that Marvin despised funerals and thus there will be no formal funeral or church ceremonies.
“He wished to be remembered with joy, but I would appreciate it if each of you could light a candle in his memory.”
The official cause of Marvin Hagler’s death has not yet been disclosed.
“Thank you for your affection, [Marvin] deeply cared for people, he cherished you all, and your messages brought him joy. He was a unique and wonderful soul, the most amazing person I have ever known in my life.”
Marvin Hagler achieved a record of 62–3–2 during his career.
