Former Norte Dame Defensive Tackle, Louis Nix III, Who Previously Played for the Houston Texans, Found Deceased Following Disappearance

This is extremely tragic news.

Just a few days after being reported missing, Brie Isom, a reporter for News4Jax, spoke with one of Nix’s family members who confirmed that Nix has passed away.

Louis Nix III was only 29 years old.

Former Norte Dame DT Louis Nix, a third-round pick of the #Texans in 2014, was found dead tonight after being reported missing since Tuesday, his family confirmed to @wjxt4.

Nix, who was a third-round draft pick by the Houston Texans in 2014, was found deceased after being reported missing in Florida. His mother, speaking to Ben Becker of ActionNewsJax.com, mentioned that she had not heard from her son for several days.

“The last time anyone saw him was on Tuesday,” Nix’s mother stated. “I can’t reach him as his voicemail is full, and the people he talks to daily haven’t heard from him. This is unlike him.”

Following his brief tenure with the Texans, Nix was later picked up by the New York Giants and subsequently joined the practice squads of Washington and Jacksonville.

Nix had undergone several knee surgeries, which eventually led to the conclusion of his NFL career.
