The focus on DK Metcalf this week is not about his performance on the field. The wide receiver for the Seattle Seahawks joined a discussion on Instagram that sparked a lot of interest.
In response to a question, he emphatically answered “YES” when asked if the Eagles should entrust their franchise to rookie QB Jalen Hurts.
Following the Eagles’ 22-17 defeat to the Browns, there have been calls for Carson Wentz to be benched in favor of Jalen Hurts, the rookie second-round pick. However, head coach Doug Pederson has not made that decision just yet.
Carson Wentz’s performance in 2020 hasn’t been impressive (2,326 yards, 14 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, 58.4% completion rate), but the team’s poor record still puts them at the top of the NFC East division.
Although the situation is not great, unless it worsens significantly, it’s unlikely that there will be a change in the quarterback position.
