Clemson’s Win Streak Ended by Notre Dame

A remarkable victory for Notre Dame unfolded on Saturday night as they defeated Clemson with a score of 47-40, marking their first win against a top-ranked team since 1993. The game concluded with jubilant fans flooding the field to celebrate the momentous win.

The game kicked off with Notre Dame taking an early lead, as Kyren Williams dashed 65 yards for a touchdown within the first minute of the game. Jonathan Doerer added to their lead with a successful field goal, putting the Irish ahead at 10-0. However, Clemson swiftly answered with a touchdown courtesy of Cornell Powell.

Moving into the second quarter, Notre Dame extended their lead with another field goal by Doerer within two minutes. B.T. Potter then secured a 25-yard field goal for the Tigers, narrowing the gap to just three points. Notre Dame continued their offensive prowess by scoring another touchdown and field goal. Clemson managed to squeeze in another field goal by Potter just before halftime.

Trailing by 10 points entering the second half, Clemson launched a fierce comeback in the third quarter, equalizing the score. As the game moved into the fourth quarter, both teams exerted maximum effort, exchanging field goals and touchdowns. Notre Dame clinched a winning touchdown from Avery Davis in the final minute, forcing the game into overtime.

The overtime period was intense, with Clemson scoring seven points and Notre Dame notching 14 points, securing the victory.
