Defending champion of the Cup Series, Kyle Busch, had been struggling throughout the season without a single win leading up to Wednesday night’s race at Texas Motor Speedway. Despite being out of contention for the playoffs due to this dry spell, Busch managed to clinch a win with clever fuel management and maintaining a strong pace to keep his teammate Martin Truex, Jr. at bay.

With this victory, Busch now boasts an impressive 57 wins in the Cup Series. More significantly for him, he has prolonged his streak of winning at least one race every season since 2005. This streak was in jeopardy until his recent win, which marked a crucial moment for him. The other top performers in the race included Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney, and Alex Bowman. Looking ahead to the Final 4 at Phoenix to determine the champion, Joey Logano is the sole driver confirmed. Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, and Brad Keselowski have secured their spots based on points, while drivers like Bowman, Chase Elliott, Martin Truex Jr., and Kurt Busch will likely need a win at Martinsville to advance. The Texas race faced a three-day delay as NASCAR grappled with the challenge of preparing a track that proved to be unruly.
