When multiple players from the Tennessee Titans tested positive for coronavirus, the team decided to conduct a training session at a local high school, defying directives that prohibited in-person gatherings. This move could lead to severe consequences for the team.

The NFL took action and closed down both the Titans and Minnesota Vikings facilities on September 29, following the Titans reporting eight positive COVID-19 cases. Players were explicitly instructed not to convene for any team activities, whether at the official training facilities or elsewhere.

Just a day later, a group of players opted to hold a workout session at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, reportedly with the approval of the school’s coaches.

According to insider information shared by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the team may be on the brink of facing unprecedented penalties for flouting the regulations, especially if it is established that the decision was premeditated.

The tally of Titans players contracting COVID-19 rose to 23 by Thursday. This uptick was due to a new positive test and the confirmation that an inconclusive test from Wednesday was indeed positive. The team’s facility remains off-limits, and players are still prohibited from engaging in face-to-face meetings.
