Two college football players have been arrested in connection with the murder of a student at a university. The incident occurred on August 11 and has shocked the community.
On Friday, four men were arrested in connection to the death of Southern Arkansas University senior Joshua Smith. The individuals arrested are Odies Wilson, Le’Kamerin (Kam) Tolbert, Quincy Isaiah Lewis, and Shaivonn (Shakey) Robinson. All four have been charged with capital murder.
Tolbert is a redshirt freshman linebacker, while Robinson is a sophomore defensive end. Wilson has previously played on the team.
The incident took place off-campus at the Donald W. Reynolds campus community center. Following a discussion, there was gunfire resulting in Smith’s death at the scene. Another student was injured but is in stable condition.
The four suspects are currently in custody awaiting their arraignment on Monday at 3:00 p.m. Additional charges may be brought as the investigation continues.
