The New Name of Saints’ Safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson is Now Creedy Duce

When the 2020 NFL season kicks off, fans won’t see Chauncey Gardner-Johnson in the New Orleans Saints’ defensive lineup anymore.

Nick Underhill from NewOrleans.Football reported that the safety formerly known as Gardner-Johnson has officially changed his name to Ceedy Duce:

In a statement, he expressed his motivation behind the change, saying, “Time to make my own image and prevent unfair judgments. If you don’t know me as a person, I won’t engage unless addressed.”
The Saints drafted him from the University of Florida in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL draft.
During his rookie season, he played in all 16 games and tallied 49 tackles, eight passes defended, one interception, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
