Denny Hamlin is having an exceptional year in 2020, with no signs of slowing down. After facing car issues that cost him a win at Indy, Hamlin bounced back on Thursday night at Kansas to secure his fifth victory of the season at the 1.5-mile oval.
Hamlin had to put in extra effort, overtaking rival Kevin Harvick with 13 laps remaining and then fending off a fierce challenge from Brad Keselowski in the final laps. Martin Truex Jr., Kevin Harvick, and Erik Jones rounded out the top five in a race filled with cautions. The series will now have a break of about a week and a half before moving on to New Hampshire.
