Gardner Minshew is beloved by fans across the nation.
His stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list was short-lived as the team confirmed on Tuesday that the starting quarterback has been removed from the list. This update signifies Minshew can now get back to playing football.
During a conference call on Tuesday, Minshew humorously clarified that he did not test positive for the virus in his typical Minshew style.
“I did not get the virus. It saw me and just ran away. Probably for the best.”
The reserve/COVID-19 list is utilized for any player who tests positive for COVID-19 or has close contact with an infected person.
Minshew, a sixth-round pick in 2019, achieved a 6-6 record as a starter in his rookie season after taking over for the injured Nick Foles in Week 1. In 14 games, Minshew completed 60.6% of his passes for 3,271 yards with 21 touchdowns and six interceptions.
