The Houston Rockets have encountered a setback as Russell Westbrook recently revealed on social media that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a statement he shared, Westbrook announced his positive test results.
Prior to the NBA season’s hiatus, Westbrook was having an impressive first season in Houston, averaging 27.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game. He also achieved a career-best shooting percentage of 47.4% in his 12-year NBA career.
With a record of 40-24, the Rockets are currently tied for the fifth seed in the competitive Western Conference standings. They have the potential to finish anywhere from the second to the seventh seed as the regular season nears its end.
Having already secured their place in the 2020 NBA playoffs, the Rockets face the challenge of adjusting to Westbrook’s absence due to his COVID-19 diagnosis.
