Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss was recently targeted with a distressing letter that included racial slurs aimed at her and other African-American players on the team.

After coming across the offensive letter on Instagram, Lakers’ star forward LeBron James expressed his solidarity with Buss.
LeBron took to his Instagram story to post two messages: “LOVE YOU JEANIE!!!” framed by heart emojis and a middle finger emoji directed at the letter’s sender, Joe.

Buss decided to share the letter publicly, stating, “After much thought, I decided to share this letter I received on Monday so that everyone can see the hate is real and living out there.” She continued, “This is happening in our world TODAY. It’s real and it exists.”

On Juneteenth, Buss called on her white friends to acknowledge and work against racism, highlighting the need for collective action to combat prejudice.

Directly addressing Joe, she questioned the motivation behind sending such a hateful letter and urged self-reflection to recognize the ugliness of such actions.

LeBron James and the Lakers are gearing up to participate in the upcoming “bubble” games in Orlando, Florida, as they strive for a championship title this season.
