Steve Spurrier is showing interest in returning to coaching through the XFL, and here’s the scoop!
The XFL may make a comeback with new ownership after filing for bankruptcy earlier this year. If the league makes a third return, Steve Spurrier is keen on coaching a team.
Spurrier expressed to Josh Kendall of The Athletic that he would “probably do it” if offered a coaching position for a Florida-based team in the XFL.
Spurrier’s most recent coaching stint was with the Orlando Apollos in the Alliance of American Football last year before the league folded. The team achieved a league-leading 7-1 record, and Spurrier was presented with a championship ring by his former employers.
The bankruptcy sale of the XFL is set to take place in August.
The Tampa Bay Vipers were the sole XFL team based in Florida.
