One of the standout moments from Part 6 of The Last Dance involved Michael Jordan engaging in a friendly wager with a security guard at the United Center. What seemed like an easy win for Jordan turned into a surprising defeat.
The challenge was to pitch a quarter closer to the wall. The guard bet $20 that he could outperform MJ in four shots, and he succeeded on his first attempt, leaving Jordan stunned.
After his victory, the guard famously shrugged at Jordan.
The security guard, John Michael Wozniak, sadly passed away in January at the age of 69. His obituary highlighted some of his life achievements:
“John Michael Wozniak, retired CPD and US Army Veteran, age 69, passed away surrounded by family on January 18, 2020. Loving father of Nicholi (Anne), Rocky (fiancée Ashley), and Michael; Cherished papa of Roman, Lucas, and Natalie; Lifelong companion of Marilyn Wozniak; Dear brother of Marilyn (Larry), Gloria, and Dennis.”
