Irina Moroziuk, the wife of Ukrainian footballer Mykola Moroziuk, could potentially be sentenced to 3 years in prison for an incident involving her revealing her underwear while singing the national anthem. Video footage of the incident has circulated online, showing Moroziuk in a blue top and loose trousers that exposed her yellow underwear matching the colors of the Ukrainian flag. Despite her proud rendition of the anthem, many criticized her for the inappropriate choice of clothing.
According to Ukrainian lawyer Yuriy Yurchenko, Moroziuk could be held accountable for abuse of state symbols, a violation punishable by a fine of up to 50 tax-free minimum incomes, a maximum of 6 months’ arrest, or up to 3 years in prison as per Article 338 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
