The NFL’s scheduled workout for Colin Kaepernick faced a setback recently when the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback changed the location last minute, opting to conduct the session at a local high school in the Atlanta area.

It seems the exposure from the event has paid off for Kaepernick, as former University of California, Berkeley wide receiver Jordan Veasy has landed a tryout with the Washington Football Team after millions of viewers watched him catch passes during a live stream.

Veasy has acknowledged Kaepernick for helping him secure a spot with the Washington practice squad.

“It helped,” the 6-foot-3 receiver expressed, as reported by the Washington Post. “That’s one of the reasons I wanted to be a part of it. Just being a part of the history of it, and I knew it was going to help me.”

During his time at Cal, Veasy caught a total of 63 passes for 797 yards over two seasons before being signed by the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft.

Despite Kaepernick displaying his skills at the workout, no NFL team has expressed interest in signing him since that noteworthy event.
