Women’s professional tennis is set to make a comeback in The Bronx this summer with a tournament organized by New York Junior Tennis & Learning. The NYJTL Bronx Open, a women’s professional tournament at the WTA International level, will feature a prize pool of $250,000 at the Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning in The Bronx. The event will see 30 players competing in singles matches and 16 doubles teams vying for victory. Generous sponsorships from supporting companies will allow the tournament to be open to the public free of charge, aiming to attract a large audience.
This year, the New York Junior Tennis & Learning Group will be managing the event. This organization is dedicated to providing services to underprivileged children, offering them the opportunity to learn and play tennis. Since its establishment in 1971, the NYJTLG has empowered numerous children by providing access to tennis, healthcare, and education, profoundly impacting their lives.
