According to CNN, USA cycling confirmed the sad news of the death of Olympic cyclist Kelly Catlin at the age of 23.
Catlin’s brother, Colin, posted on Facebook on Friday with the heartbreaking announcement of her suicide, stating, “My sister Kelly took her own life last night. She was the one person I had shared nearly my entire life with, and I will miss her deeply.”
Hailing from Minnesota, Catlin was a student at the University of Minnesota and a graduate student at Stanford University, where she was pursuing computational mathematics. Tragically, she passed away on Friday in her dorm room at Stanford University in California.
